The LAUGH research team at Cardiff Met are members of the CARIAD Research Centre.

CARIAD is unique within the institution as Cardiff Met’s first and only pan University research Centre and has acted as a catalyst for new research and enterprise. CARIAD researchers act as research role models for academics and post graduate students: mentoring staff in individual research project work, teaching research methodology and practical skills to MA and PhD students, assisting with the development and review of funding proposals, contributing to research seminars and giving lectures.

Findings from CARIAD projects have been developed into key published texts and their knowledge has extended the acquisition of subject specific books in the library. In 2013-2014 CARIAD researchers from CSAD alone generated over 200,000 of research and enterprise funding. CARIAD researchers also apply their methods through the design of taught modules, research degree training, policy and strategic development. CARIAD members sit on the university Ethics Committee, Research Degree Committee and Research and Enterprise Board. The ethics strategy for the School of Art and Design has contributed to protocols that are being adopted at all levels.  READ MORE ABOUT CARIAD
