Cathy was invited to speak at the ‘Ageing Playfully: Inspiring ways to work with people with dementia’ seminar, at Imagination Lab – Lancaster University. She spoke about her research and experiences around play with people living with dementia, showing the Sensor e-Textiles project.
The LAUGH project was invited to be a part of the Tinted Lens festival at Chapter in Cardiff. The festival took place on Dementia Awareness Day, 17th May 2017 #DAW2017.
The event celebrated Dementia Awareness Week with Dementia Friendly screenings, theatre and drop-in craft workshops, a Virtual Reality experience and guest speakers.
We ran a ‘Hand i Pocket funshop’, inviting people to come along and create a sensory textile pocket for someone living with dementia. During the day, many pockets were made either for a specific friend or family member, or to be donated to somebody with dementia.
