The LAUGH research team and My Home Life Cymru would like to invite you to ‘LAUGH – A celebration of love and life in care homes’ on Friday 16th March 2018, 10am – 12.30pm.
This event is the culmination of our three year international AHRC funded design for dementia research project. The LAUGH researchers have been working with people living with advanced dementia to develop a collection of playful objects to engage, comfort and bring pleasure. This event is an opportunity to view the objects, meet the researchers and hear the stories behind the designs.
The event is in collaboration with My Home Life Cymru and ENRICH who are promoting good practice and research in care homes across Wales.
The event will be opened by Sarah Rochira, Older People’s Commissioner for Wales.
Other speakers will include:
Professor Cathy Treadaway, Cardiff Metropolitan University
Dr Jac Fennell, Cardiff Metropolitan University
Nick Andrews, Wales School for Social Care Research
Suzy Webster, My Home Life Cymru
The event will be closed by Lynne Neagle AM, Chair of the Cross-Party Group on Dementia.
We very much hope you will be able to join us to spread the word amongst those you represent about the LAUGH research and the benefits to wellbeing that playful objects can bring to people living with advanced dementia. Please sign up to attend via our Eventbrite page.
The event will be held at The Senedd – National Assembly for Wales and is kindly sponsored by Lynne Neagle AM.
